Apple to start making iPhones in India, says state government

The American high-tech company Apple is planning to invest significantly in India, where it own 2% of market share.
At the moment, the intention of the company is to send 30% of the product to assembly and then start manufacturing directly in the country.

Why do you think Apple has decided to invest significantly in this new emerging market? To gain competitive advantage or to reduce production costs?
